What's new

Changes to ClearTime, newest first. ClearTime is in public beta, so each update arrives through TestFlight.

Sidekicks, Routines and ClearTime Plus

Build 202610021528 for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple TV

Sidekicks

  • A character on your timer. A sidekick takes the place of the hand. It sits in the middle of the timer and turns as the time runs down.
  • Everyday. Cloud and Unicorn come with ClearTime.
  • Halloween. Ghost, Pumpkin, Black Cat, Witch, Frankenstein and Dracula. Friendly, not scary. They come as one pack you buy once and share with your family.
  • Color or sidekick. Each timer shows a color or a sidekick, and you pick either one on every device.

ClearTime Plus

  • Routines. Timers that run one after another by themselves. A routine is a list of steps, like Morning or Bedtime, or work and rest that repeat, like Deep Work.
  • Distraction notes. A thought arrives while you focus. Jot one line without leaving the timer, and get the list back at the break.
  • History. A record of the timers you finished, on iPhone, iPad and Mac. It stays on your devices.
  • Custom colors. Pick your own timer color on iPhone, iPad and Mac. The bezel follows it.
  • What Plus is. A yearly subscription with everything above and every sidekick pack, now and to come.
  • What stays free. The timer, the floating Mac timer, the seven colors, the Everyday sidekicks, widgets, Apple Watch, Apple TV, Just Five and Heads-up.

iPad

  • A layout made for iPad. Upright, the timer sits above its controls. On its side, the timer sits on the left with the controls beside it. An iPhone on its side gets the same arrangement.
  • Presets within reach. On iPad your saved presets show on the timer screen. Tap one, then Start.

Build 202609252221 for iPhone, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple TV

  • One timer, every screen. ClearTime for Mac, iPhone, Apple Watch and Apple TV, all from one TestFlight link.
  • Tap the timer to pause. On iPhone, the Mac window and Apple TV, a tap on the timer pauses it or starts it again.
  • A quieter running screen. On iPhone you can hide the time, the timer's name and the buttons while a timer runs. Tap near the timer to bring the buttons back.
  • Your kind of face. Show or hide the hand and the minute marks. Number the face to 60 minutes or to the length of your timer.
  • Backgrounds that follow your color. Screens and widgets sit on a very dark or very light shade of the timer's color.
  • Sounds in silent mode. The sound at the end plays even when your iPhone is on silent, like the Clock app.
  • A floating Mac timer that moves easily. Drag it anywhere. Resize it with the grip on its rim, a pinch, or ⌘+ and ⌘−.
  • cleartimeapp.com. The site is live, with a working timer at the top of the page.

The beta runs through TestFlight, Apple's app for testing new apps, on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV.
