Privacy policy
ClearTime doesn't collect your data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and nothing about you is sent to me.
Last updated
ClearTime is a visual timer for Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Apple TV, made by me, Daniel Schutzsmith (I go by Daniel Hayes Smith). Daniel Schutzsmith is my legal name and the seller you see on the App Store. This page covers the app and this website, cleartimeapp.com.
In the app
- Your timers, presets, routines, Distraction notes, history and settings are stored on your own devices. ClearTime has no server, so there is nowhere else for them to go.
- On iPhone and iPad, ClearTime's widgets and Live Activity read the running timer from storage the app shares with them on the same device.
- When a timer ends, the notification is scheduled by your device. It doesn't come from a server, and you can turn it off in your device's settings.
- ClearTime doesn't ask for your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or health data.
- There is no third-party code in the app: no analytics kits and no ad networks.
Purchases
Sidekick packs and ClearTime Plus are sold by Apple through the App Store. I never see your payment details, your Apple Account or your billing address. Apple tells the app only which purchases are unlocked. The App Store is the only thing ClearTime connects to, and only for purchases.
What Apple shares with me
- If you test ClearTime through TestFlight, Apple passes on the feedback, screenshots and crash reports you choose to send, with details such as your device model and system version.
- If you share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may also pass on crash reports and summary figures, such as how many people installed the app.
- I use this only to make ClearTime better. Apple's handling of it is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
This website
- cleartimeapp.com uses no cookies, analytics or ads.
- It is hosted by Cloudflare, which receives the technical details every website gets, such as your IP address, to deliver the pages and protect the site.
- Its typeface comes from Google Fonts, so your browser also asks Google for the font files.
If you write to [email protected], I receive your email address and what you write. I use them only to answer you, and I never add you to a mailing list.
Children
ClearTime collects nothing from anyone, children included.
